Step inside A Shroud Woven of Solar Threads, the major exhibition by artists Ala Roushan & Charles Stankievech, curated by Juliet Kothe and Nadim Samman.

Filmed on location at Halle am Berghain, the exhibition reimagines a 4000-year old Mithraic ritual, reconstructed through a speculative constellation of ancient sounds, lost language, unearthed imagery, and turbulent atmospheres. Everything in the room orbits the Sun as an object of worship, a source of power, and an instrument of control. The space proposes a continuum between ancient beliefs and current energy infrastructures, treating ritual as a technology under construction - one still being used to negotiate humanity’s terms with nature and the forces that govern it.

Stemming from the artists’ fieldwork in Iran, archival research, and novel Artificial Intelligence techniques, this exhibition walkthrough offers an initiation into a speculative dimension of time, where past, present, and future overlap.
